Its new Ocean Respect formula is environmentally friendly and biodegradable. It doesn’t contain any microplastics or silicones, or any filters that are harmful to the ecosystem. Moreover, it does not contain any Oxybenzone or Octinoxate, ingredients which are harmful to corals, respecting the regulations already in place in some parts of the Caribbean.
It is essential to care for our skin all year long and protect ourselves from the sun by using daily protection. We are more and more aware of the importance of sun cream in preventing premature skin ageing, but Skeyndor is a step ahead and has also adapted its sun cream to protect us from screens and to care for the environment.
Protection of the environment is one of Skeyndor’s greatest concerns. The oceans make up two-thirds of our planet, and we are not taking good care of them. Between 6,000 and 14,000 tonnes of sun cream are dumped in the seas and oceans each year given that 25% of the active ingredients in sunscreen applied to the skin come off in the water, causing serious damage to marine flora and fauna.
Faced with this worrying problem, it is important to use products which protect against sun exposure while also respecting the ecosystem. This facial protection cream protects your skin by directly blocking HEV blue light rays, and is environmentally friendly. It provides very high sun protection with a broad-spectrum protector (UVB, UVA, HEV and IR), making it ideal for high-risk and sun-sensitive skin. It has a light texture, dry touch, is water-resistant and imparts a slight touch of colour.
Furthermore, the Skeyndor team is conscious of our inevitable over-exposure to screens and electronic devices, and of the consequences on our skin. The screens of these electronic devices are a source of artificial high-energy visible radiation, often referred to as blue light, which can damage our face if we don’t take precautions. To prevent the appearance of dark spots on the skin, loss of firmness and elasticity, loss of resilience, and photoageing caused by this type of light, they already reformulated their sun cream for the face last year with the Blue Light Technology formula that blocks this type of radiation.
